No. We are proudly not OFQUAL-regulated. 

Why ‘proudly’? Our courses are affordable, which isn’t possible if they’re OFQUAL-regulated. Instead, we have private, rather than government-affiliated, accreditation to quality-assure our company’s practice and our course content. What alot of people don’t know is that OFQUAL simply regulates assessments rather than content, whereas our accreditor actually regulates our content and how it’s assessed, and they do this for a far cheaper price. OFQUAL requires that course providers have assessors, who grade and provide feedback on TEFL assessments (in this context): the hourly wage of an assessor for practical assignments (of which there may be 6 to 10 in total) is more than the cost of our 120-hour course. A sample of graded assessments must also be passed to internal quality assessors (IQAs) at random: their hourly rate is even higher than general markers, of course. If you aren’t going for CELTA-requiring jobs (most TEFL jobs in the world do not require this level) then privately accredited TEFL certification is the winning formula and enough to secure work visas, for example, so long as you meet other requirements (e.g. nationality and education levels). Most TEFL providers pay an annual provider fee for OFQUAL regulation AND a set fee per student for registration – you pay that through your fees. Private accreditation is cheaper, so the per student overhead is lower, which is passed on to you, the student.
